First day at CTS ....

Hello everyone

The first day at Cognizant today was like a stereotypical
Indian movie where the first part was very boring and contrastingly
the second part was very interesting and exciting ..
Heres is what happened at Cognizant today

We were scheduled to arrive at Tidel Park around 8.30 .After the arrival the
HR came to the audi and gave a welcome note at around 9.30 .
After that they showed us a video of our CEO addressing the freshers and inspiring
us to develop a passion to make a difference ;) ..

Then we were called in an alphabetical order one by one according to our recruitment team
and we were given a huge file with lots of confusing documents to sign .. We had to literally
sign in every pages of those documents and we had to fill in a lot of information as
well.Then around 10.30 we broke for tea .

After coming back from Tea we had more signing and more filling forms.
And then there was the certificate verification carried out by some seniors.
They mainly checked if we had a Provisional Certificate and a consolidated marksheet .
If we didnt have one and had a proper reason , they didnt mind and asked us
to produce it as soon as possible .

Then they asked us to arrange the documents and photocopies of our
certificates in a particular order and we filed it .And then we broke
for lunch .

here comes the interesting part ..

After returning from lunch we had some discussion and seeing everyone sticking
to their well knowns.They asked us to stand up in our places and go around
introducing ourselves and find new friends .. it was funny .. and I got to meet a lot of
people and surprisingly many of them recognised me as the Orkut Guy... lol.

And then the HR split us into 4 teams and asked us to sit in a circle .. Because we
were crammed in the front and didn't have space our circle rather looked like an Ameoba.
So one of our team members smartly named our team "Ameoba".

The other teams were BART , Maeverics and JAzz...

We had a funny team game and it went on well ..

Then came the Individual perfomance round where 4 people from each team had to perform on stage
and a best performer will be chosen for each team ..Lots of people danced , sung very well ..

And I won the best performance award in my team for Memicry ..
And Arun from SSN won it for his excellent dancing performance
and there were other 2 girls who won prizes for dancing and singing.

And then there were awards for leaders who led their team best ..
Abhilash from my college won it ...

And finally they showed us an inspiring video .And then there was hot tea waiting outside
and drinking it we departed at around 5 o clock .....

So it was an exciting , exhausting , interesting and an awesome first day experience today at COgnizant ..

P.S There were no info given about the domain selection and all other stuff .. We will be knowing
about it next week .. So I will tell you people about it ..
